Lindapter M12 and M16 type 'LR' fixings have been used throughout the recently completed Mount Arthur North.
The Lindapter system offered many benefits over the original 'weld' specification and so was changed by contractor John Holland (and approved by Sinclair Knight Merz).

The Lindapter system avoided the need to drill or weld to the existing steel beams. As such, the existing corrosion protection was not compromised and the structural integrity of the steel remained intact. The 'LR' fixing used offered a 'universal' fixing method with one fixing being suitable for a multitude of flange thicknesses. This, combined with slotted holes in the channel section, enabled different generic universal beam / universal column connection methods.

Lindapter fixings are particularly useful in areas of heavy vibration. Lloyds Register Type Approved Products have been subjected to tensile, frictional, shear, vibration and shock tests, witnessed and verified by Lloyds Register. As such, and providing installation is carried out to the manufacturers recommendations, Lindapter fixings (covered by the Lloyds Approval) are guaranteed not to work loose and to withstand the loads stipulated in the Lindapter catalogue.
